Gardening: The Big Plant
I can do the big-plant of gardening. I can buy all of the supplies, the lifting of the heavy bags, preparing the soil with digging, hoeing, raking. You name it; I can do it. I can shift the plant roots between my hands and tuck them into the earth. I can water them generously that first day; maybe even that first week.
But, can I be a cultivator? Can I be a cultivator over the long haul? This takes dedication and a rising up over and over again. The tender care of watering, pruning, feeding, paying attention.
Can I be a cultivator of:
- A healthy home with less bickering and more grace
- A happy family where needs of meals are prepared with loving hands, activities planned, rest made, tidying complete, fun and giggles galore
- A life of courageous connections with friends and family, smiles, touching of hands, thankfulness
- A life of loving responses: holding my tongue, praising, thanking, lifting up, saying the hard things with love
